This work was done for Qantas as part of the broader campaign ‘You’re the reason we fly’ while working at Razorfish in Sydney. We created a digital billboard that used NFC technology to recognise users who had the QantasYou app downloaded to their phones, which enabled them to see their name and image displayed on the 3.5m-wide screens in real time. This was a first for something like this in Australia and received a great response from users and the media.
Run in conjunction with Adshel, this was the first campaign to launch under their new digital and mobile out-of-home network, Adshel Play. Adshel director of marketing, Nicole McInnes said:
“This new campaign… shows what digital outdoor is now capable of. We’re in a Minority Report world where advertising can be tailored to your gender, mood or needset for that time of day.”
